Climbing the stairs up to the roof terrace on the first morning of our stay I noticed that the master bedroom was painted in my favourite colour, turquoise. As I passed the room I saw a stream of light ... shining onto the bed. When I came back down thirty minutes later, the light had moved and the beautiful moment had passed. I knew what time I had to be there for the following morning and I was slightly nervous about asking our host to depart from his bedroom at such an early hour. The opportunity was to good to miss. I don’t think he had any guests evacuate him out of his own bedroom before. Teachers, art critics and friends have expressed that there is an erotic air to these photographs. It is interesting hearing different views. My inspiration was the beam of light, the vivid colour of the walls and textures of the sheet. I was intrigued to see how I could best place an elegant human form into this environment to complete the space.
